On May 19, 2014 my belongings were moved by my local Two Men and a Truck. As a senior, I hired them because of their claims like "movers who care" and โ€œTHE GRANDMA RULE: To treat everyone the way you would want your Grandma to be treated.โ€

On May 20, 2014 I phoned to complain about some aspects of the move. The local Two Men and a Truck owner hung up on me!

Weeks later, on June 12, 2014, I received the following email from them:

"We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for our handling of the correspondence following your move with Nordic Partners, Inc., d/b/a Two Men And A Truck. This situation should have been handled much more professionally on our behalf.

We would like to offer $150.00 to settle all issues regarding this move. Attached, please find a General Release and Settlement Agreement. Upon receiving your completed form, we will issue a check for the amount of $150.00. The form can be emailed to jessica.***@ or mailed to: Two Men And A Truck, Attention: Jessica ***, Bay City, MI 48708.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused."

Since their "General Release and Settlement Agreement" was a legal means of silencing me about the problems I had with them and since I'm offering this for public view, it's obvious what I did. It also means, in my opinion, that the money offered was a conditional bribe for silence, not an effort to correct a wrong.

What would you do? Would you accept their admission of fault and money on the condition that you sign a legal document prohibiting you from ever discussing why they thought it necessary to do such a thing? Or would you do as I did and reject all of it as an insulting expression of how they bolster their insincere claims like "movers who care?"

Reason of review: Poor customer service in addition to damage caused to personal property during move.

Preferred solution: They should pay the $150.00 they offered, not as a bribe to shut me up, but to right their wrongs..

Location: Saginaw, Michigan
